Oh, Oliver!

Remember the communal nest waiting to be claimed?

Self appointed guards Oliver and Miss Martha were doing a wonderful job of keeping the ducks from adding to the stash with their own contributions. 
In fact, Oliver went one step further and decided to bestow on himself the title of  Head Egg Turner. 
A very high level position, dontcha know :)

Here he is busy at work. 

'One, two, three...thirteen."

"THIRTEEN!!!!"

And Oliver isn't just the Head Egg Turner.  He's also the Nest Fluffer.  Yes, the Nest Fluffer.  Once the eggs were turned, he felt they needed a 'little more cosy'.  So...

"Hmmm, this will do nicely..."

He gathered hay and twigs from outside the nesting box and added them to the already well fluffed nest until he was satisfied  everything was just as it should be.

"What's good for the Gander is soft fluffiness for the Mama Goose"

Oliver did a wonderful job as Head Egg Turner and Nest Fluffer.  Lady Plum was most impressed with his handiwork.  It looked so inviting she decided it was time to start sitting.
