Lets Talk Turkey

I have to say I really have a soft spot for the turkeys.
They are full of character, something I had not expected at all! 
The boys, Mr T. Delight and George are total nerds.

At the moment their ladies are nesting.

You may remember Trudy was pushed off her first nest by the goose, Miss Determined

Trudy tried her best to not relinquish her nest to Miss Determined, but guess who won that battle of wills?

No, not SugarPlum

It was this gal, Miss Determined-

But I cant blame her,  Trudy made such a nice nest!

Henrietta decided to try to muscle in on SugarPlum's building skills.  SugarPlum is a real sweetheart and didnt put up much of a fuss over her visitor.  But enough was enough, she had to be gently convinced her own nest was the way to go.  And now she is sitting on a variety of turkey, duck and chicken

eggs.

I'm guessing Henrietta has 20 or so eggs under her!

Mr T and George have no idea what to do with themselves without their girls. They spent 4 days searching

for Trudy and Henrietta after they had taken to their nests. It will be a few more weeks yet until their girls join them free ranging again.  In the meantime, the two amigos have decided to bestow their affections on the peahens!

Although the peahens dont seem to pay too much attention to these amazing displays of Turkey Love : ))))

But we all are intrigued by the chest hair!
