Christmas, Already?

I love Christmas.
Setting up a myriad of Christmas Trees. The spicy cinnamony clovey scents of baking.  Jim Reeves in the background.
The holidays are crammed with wrapping presents, friends arriving from the city and special time with loved ones.
I'm sure it has a lot to do with the American in me : )
While I haven't been able to share the amazingness of a wintry snowy white Christmas with my children, I do manage to share pretty much everything else Christmas that I remember from my own childhood, and more.
Yes, I love Christmas.
Which is why I was so surprised at my reaction last week on a trip to the city.
Late October usually sees me waiting  impatiently for the Christmas stock to hit the store shelves.  That's something I haven't owned to before, knowing most of my friends think Christmas stock hits the shelves way. too. early. Mind you, I'm certain most of my friends would assume my impatience if they gave a minute to ponder the thought.  It's hard to miss my love for Christmas : )
So with all that in mind, you'd think my walking in to the stores last week to find shelves being stocked with Christmas decorations would have had me skipping eagerly down the aisles.  Well, of course I did.  Except I walked , not skipped.  TRULY!  But all the while I was thinking 'What the?  Isn't it too early to see this stuff out?'

And that is NOT a reaction I ever thought I'd have!.  Is it the new relaxed country lifestyle I'm leading that has me feeling thus?  Is it the Christmas spirit deserting me unexpectedly?  Or is it  JUST. TOO. EARLY?

What do you think?
